APPLY FOR UPCOMING EVENTS:
NEUROPIXELS & OPENSCOPE WORKSHOP
AND NeuroDataReHack HACKATHON
We invite you to apply for two upcoming events on neurophysiology techniques and data: the Neuropixels & OpenScope Workshop and the NeuroDataReHack hackathon. At these events, attendees have the opportunity to learn about in vivo physiology data collection and analysis, reanalyze existing data for new insights, and meet with experts from the Allen Institute and collaborating institutions.
Neuropixels and OpenScope Workshop
In this workshop, you will gain in-depth exposure to the tools and techniques used by the Allen Institute to collect in vivo physiology data at scale from Allen Institute and UW scientists. Lectures and demonstrations will cover all aspects of generating high-quality physiology datasets, from surgery to behavior training to neural recordings. Participants will also learn how to access data from the Allen Brain Observatory and about the OpenScope program. Applications are due June 1, 2022. We encourage trainees, scientists, and PIs to apply.
September 21-23, 2022
►︎ Allen Institute, Seattle, WA (September 21-22)
►︎ University of Washington, Seattle, WA (September 23)
If conducting the workshop in person becomes impossible due to covid-related safety concerns, it will be rescheduled to a later date.

NeuroDataReHack hackathon
At NeuroDataReHack, you’ll develop your skills in secondary analysis to generate new insights from existing neurophysiology data. The DANDI Archive now has nearly 100 publicly available neurophysiology datasets, standardized using the Neurodata Without Borders (NWB) standard. They include cutting edge data produced by the OpenScope program, which has been designed and packaged to enable secondary analysis. Instructional activities will introduce open neurophysiology datasets available on the DANDI Archive and how to use NWB to incorporate existing data into scientific workflows. The hackathon will be preceded by a virtual satellite event on September 28 with demos and posters introducing featured datasets, which is open to all. Hackathon applications are due June 17. Graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career faculty are encouraged to apply.
October 3-5, 2022 with virtual satellite event September 28, 2022
►︎ Online satellite event: Virtual Data Showcase (September 28)
►︎ Allen Institute, Seattle, WA (October 3-5)
If conducting the hackathon in person becomes impossible due to covid-related safety concerns, it will be held virtually.
